Very occasionally, when the planets are in perfect alignment, when you happen to be near a ley-line, and when there’s a ‘U’ in the name of the month, a really good unsolicited demo turns up. That blessed event occurred a few days ago, when we received this lovely new track from Neonfaith.
We don’t know a huge amount about Neonfaith. We asked them about themselves, but all they really told us is that they are a trio who live in Queens, and that two of them have a background in hip-hop. Their latest track, ‘Tied Together’, is a sparse collection of wintry, woodblock melody and hollow percussion, atop which sits Megan’s (no surname) beautifully textured voice. The whole thing sounds a bit like Glasser doing the soundtrack for The O.C. In other words: great.
Grab ‘Tied Together’ below, and check out their Soundcloud for the rather poppier but equally assured ‘Escape’.
