New Zealander Navvy emerges with her feelings front and centre on striking debut “Subliminal”
Navvy sings with defined harmonies on “Subliminal” to enforce a gutsy alt-pop sound on her enticing introduction.
“Subliminal” is the debut single from Phoebe Lee Jasper who goes under her stage name Navvy, unveiling a sound that encompasses a future-pop world, drawing comparisons to Sigrid or Lorde as the track projects an emotional outcry with slick pop production.
Along with a colourful array of vocal harmonies, Navvy sings accompanied by starry synthesisers and an electronic arrangement that emphasises how it feels to put your emotions at the forefront of our minds.
“I think Navvy is about losing inhibition and being exactly who you want to be without question,” says Jasper. “I was broken up with recently, and through that I really found who I am without someone else. I want THAT GIRL to make music, and I want people to see her”.
