It’s Friday. It’s sunny (at least in London). For many people, it’s payday. This calls for something good.
Wet Paint are an East London band who have managed to find themselves almost completely out of step with the rest of East London. They used to be an alt-country band (don’t click away yet), and there isn’t a synth in sight.
Instead, the band’s forthcoming album Woe is full of furious minor-key chord progressions, distorted bass, and the sort of instantly familiar guitar lines that suggest Wet Paint could easily become your new favourite band.
‘Gone So Long’ is the first track from Woe, and it is as blissfully, unashamedly noisy a way to start the weekend as we can imagine. The album is out on 2nd May on Records Records Records – and the band will be sharing a 12″ with erstwhile Bloc Party drummer Matt Tong for an exclusive Record Day release.
