Luke Abbott’s Holkham Drones was one of the best slow-burning success stories of 2010. It’s a stunning record: unpretentious, often startlingly beautiful, and seemingly crafted from the very simplest of elements.
We are delighted, then, to be able to premiere a new version of ‘Brazil’, one of Holkham Drones’ standout tracks. The original has just been gifted a beautiful video – but this new recording is an altogether different beast. Recorded live to tape cassette, it takes the immediately gripping melody of the album version and pumps it full of menace. It’s darker, less polished than the original – and all the better for it.
‘Brazil’ is out today on Border Community, along with new track ‘Grumble’. Stream the tape version exclusively below.
