I’ll stop raving about Pictures Music one day. That day, presumably, will be the day that they stop releasing such bloody great records.
The latest in a (short but impressive) litany of fantastic releases is Many Faces Out Of Focus, from South London producer Lapalux. His previous, self-released EPs have been compelling explorations of the threshold between dance music and soundscape work. Many Faces, though, sees Lapalux further embrace beats.
‘Time Spike Jamz’ is the breathtakingly well-produced opening track from Many Faces, and it serves as an effective bridge between the more abstract work that characterised Lapalux’s previous releases, and the more brazenly beat-oriented tracks that appear later in this new EP.
Many Faces is out on 18 April, through Pictures Music.
