Halifax's Monomyth Share Their "New Year Resolve"
We slam the door on 2016 and look forward to the year ahead with the slacker charm of Halifax’s Monomyth.
Formed by Josh Salter and Seamus Dalton of Nap Eyes, the band released their second album Happy Pop Family in November last year through Mint Records. A delightfully slanted trip through the pop cannon, taking in such delights as Indie, slacker, noise, twee, psych and power pop, the record is the sound of four friends in a room, hanging out and making music inspired by the music they love.
This refreshingly simple approach is wonderfully realised on "New Year’s Resolve", a jangling, easy-going homage to their hometown. Monomyth's strategy for the coming year seems to be as good as any: as long as they have their guitars, and the amp works, they intend to take everything in their stride. So sit back, relax and take things easy with them as we see in 2017.
