Newcastle soul man Mo Parker makes an electrifying debut with, “Fold”, premiering today on Best Fit.
With production help from Domzilla (Lulu James), Parker resists the urge to delve in to the trend of glitchy, overly busy electronic soul. The musical backing is kept relatively spare, allowing the artist’s voice to stay in the spotlight, maintaining a balance of traditional instrumentation and modern touches. Over it all, Parker reimagines love as a card game; there are no winners and losers here, only those willing to bluff and those willing to fold.
