M.I.L.K. make a second funk-filled statement with new track “Everything You Know” [Premiere]
Following-on from the online buzz surrounding debut single “If We Want To” M.I.L.K. today unveil a second slice of soulful seduction to assert their position in the ever-expanding pantheon of Scandinavian talents.
The Copenhagen-based collective, lead by singer Emil Wilk, have collaborated with the likes of Mads Damsgaard Kristiansen from Reptile Youth, as well as Søren Christensen, and Simon Torp Littauer - who's known for his work with Best Fit favourite MØ.
This new cut ups the ante from its predecessor with skipping synth lines marrying with a chunky brass section before Wilk’s languid vocal floats above a grooving bass line and shuffling drums. It’s a recipe with effortlessly funky results.
Speaking about the track, Wilk said: "It's a galactic love song about the kind of love that's bigger than earthy things like time and distance. Love that will survive all the things that are disappearing as time goes by. Sonically it's inspired by the mixed feelings of falling in love. When you feel the ecstasy and melancholy at the same time, because you know it's all going to disappear one day.”
Aligning themselves with the likes of Metronomy and with gentle nods to Jungle, M.I.L.K. are well worth keeping an eye on as we move into the haze of summer.
