Manchester's Mealtime are at full throttle with new banger “Rain Like This”
Mealtime gear up for the win with left-field Y2K-inspired popper “Rain Like This”.
Swerving the laddy indie rock that their home city is synonymous with, Mancunian six-piece Mealtime are creating high-speed thrills with early-millennial aesthetics to rival PC Music.
Their previous single “Sublime” was a buoyant trip through “sexy chat” channels and sleazy limousine parties, but Mealtime's hedonism takes on a more wholesome theme faster than you can wave a checkered flag on the video for “Rain Like This”.
Inspired by early '00s Cartoon Network shows, the whimsical visuals see each member of the group's alter ego profiled, with in-jokes aplenty. The deadpan duetted delivery dances over bouncy rhythms on the zippy new track, while clattering driving beats bop along with the thrill of the chase.
