Mark McGowan invites us to revel in joyful soul on new track “Lighthouse”
Glasgow soul man Mark McGowan has released the first track off his forthcoming EP Fugazi entitled “Lighthouse”.
With a distinct voice that is recognisable from the first syllable uttered, McGowan creates a sound that keeps one ear firmly in working class Glasgow, and another transported to the Greenwich Village folk scene of the early '60s.
His track “Lighthouse” is a joyful listen, driven by circular picking patterns on an acoustic guitar. McGowan’s vocals swathe effortlessly over top, making this the perfect soundtrack for any lock-in or late night sing-a-long.
Currently a cult figure in Glasgow’s thriving independent scene, expect to hear a lot more from this talented gent in the near future.
Mark McGowan’s Fugazi EP is released May 13 via In Black records.
