Hotly tipped NYU grad Maggie Rogers makes it three for three with the stirring "On + Off"
NYU graduate Maggie Rogers unveils third track “On & Off” taken from her forthcoming debut EP Now That The Light Is Fading.
Following up her viral debut single “Alaska” was always going to be a difficult task - the track, which saw Rogers tipped for big things this year, was first heard in the now infamous master class stream with Pharrell Williams being deeply moved by what he'd heard. Rogers' second release “Dog Years” again showcased the 22 year-old multi-instrumentalist’s talent for blending her folk roots with the dance music she encountered on a summer vacation to France.
“On + Off” is the next offering from Rogers, who is currently touring the US, with dates in Europe on the horizon - featuring two sold out London shows at Omeara. "On + Off" is lifted from Now That The Light Is Fading, which is set for release 17 February via her new home, Polydor Records.
Lyrically the track sees Rogers reflect on her previous experiences, and much like its predecessors, it offers introspection and an air of nostalgia. Written by Rogers and co-produced by herself, Nick Das and Doug Schadt, “On + Off” is another strong addition to Rogers’ growing songbook.
