Dua Lipa-approved Irish singer/songwriter Luz shares her exceptional second single “we’ll be fine”
Lipa isn’t Luz's only famous fan, having received praise from Sigrid, Dermot Kennedy, Lewis Capaldi and Julia Michaels too - and she shines brighter than ever on her reassuring new track.
Luz aka Luz Corrigan started her musical journey sharing anonymous covers online. Two years ago she decided to lift the lid and reveal herself, but it’s not just her covers that have garnered attention and acclaim.
Earlier this year she shared her debut single “i’m lonely”, a melancholy plea for affection, and now she’s released its follow-up. “we’ll be fine” is more of the same incredibly emotive storytelling. Both tracks carry additional weight as the coronavirus pandemic forced us inside to inside to isolate and threw up real tangible unpredictability.
“I wrote 'we’ll be fine' at a point in my life where all I needed was for someone to tell me that everything would be okay,” Corrigan explains. “As mine and many others’ feelings of uncertainty have resurfaced during this time. It has always been a shoulder to me and I hope that it serves a purpose to others in the same way that it has done for me.”
The Irish artist's connection to Dua Lipa came following the rave reception to her reimagined version of the singer's hit single "Don't Start Now". You can see Lipa's reaction to Luz for yourself when she hosted a HouseParty takeover.
