Luke Marzec merges jazz, pop, and electronica on shimmering new heartwarmer "When We First Met"
British-Polish multi-instrumentalist Luke Marzec is sharing smooth new number "When We First Met".
The track transcends eras - it's a sleek lounge ballad, a Jazz Age paean to love, and a James Blake-ian sizzler all wrapped into one glimmering ball of heart. With high-gloss production that glitzes beneath his ragged croon and shuffly, smoky '20s melodies, it feels like a dynamic twist on long-loved styles.
"Sat at the piano, I made up this lighthearted love song, singing to [then partner] Agnes and making her laugh," explains Marzec of the track's beginnings. "The whole thing flowed out so naturally and fell together in a couple of hours. The vocals and piano are rough around the edges, kind of like our relationship."
