Lois - the new kid from Madrid - returns with new track "I'm Not Going Down"
Each new track we hear from Lois Ares Brea inches the Madrid-based singer/songwriter further and further from the sound he’s been making with day-job band Trajano!
On new song “I’m Not Going Down”, which premiered on DIY yesterday, Lois is clearly enjoying the change to expand his baritone alongside his minimalist melodic sensibilities.
"I feel more free," he tells Best Fit. "I mean I don't think inside a frame...I just do what a feel in any moment. Also the stories are more personal, less cryptic....and I try to be more jazzy!"
With Hinds and The Parrots leading the charge of the Madrid music mafia, Lois is set to be the next breakout artist from the Spanish capital's creative scene.
"I'm Not Going Down" is, he says "in the form of a love song...but it doesn't mean that. It's about feeling trapped...like when you do something for a living that you hate - but you think it's 'work, it's alright' and it gets to burn you!"
Lois has already been testing out his solo material live but plays it for the first time with a full band tomorrow night at Madrid's Club Costello. Is he excited? "I'm sure this one it's gonna be amazing," he tells us, "We are working so hard!"
