Listen: Shortcircles – All I Can Be For You
Californian producer, Matthew Tammariello aka Shortcircles will release his debut LP entitled Between Waves on 2 July. The Oakland resident aired ‘All I Can Be For You’ a new track taken from the record this week.
A minute and a half of lumpen, swollen-throat humming and flitting samplers drains away, replaced by thick, heady bass oscillations and trembling hi-hats which dominate from therein. Tammariello makes use of some handy local connections; ‘Young and forgetful, is all I can really be for you’, sighs fellow Oaklander and blog fave, Glenn Jackson atop silky, Eastern strings and yearning synths. Clocking in at over two hours long, Between Waves is unlikely to be this summer’s most immanent release but the utopian feel to his daydreaming RnB will keep you coming back for more once the sun goes down.
