Listen: Phlo Finister – Killer On The Road [Premiere]
We’re buoyed today by the news that Compton via Oakland vocalist Phlo Finister has finished prepping her debut EP, Poster Girl, due for release on 29 July via Night Beach.
And if that isn’t enough to slap a huge grin across your face this morning, we’re also premiering a fresh cut from the record, the menacing ‘Killer On The Road’.
Comprised of squelchy compressed beats which trickle into oscillating basslines, ‘Killer On The Road’ delves deeper into her idiosyncratic fusion of industrial rhythms and mid 90s RnB than previous track ‘Hotel Miami’. All capped off by a well-oiled vocal performance and generous lashings of spooky samples; Poster Girl can’t arrive soon enough.
Catch Phlo live at The Sebright Arms on 31 July.
