Listen: Mt. Wolf - "Red"
It was once assumed that we'd seen the last of Mt. Wolf following their sudden disappearance following a set of high-profile sold-out shows at places like Union Chapel, but they're back with their first new sounds in almost a year, "Red".
The London-based outfit, inspired by coastal childhoods, have unveiled a delicate, metamorphosing track. It's flush with grazed ambience and the fuzzy clatter of percussion. Wiry acoustic guitars, doused in reverb, echo the breathy half-whispers than Mt. Wolf share with the likes of Sigur Ros. It's a suitably anthemic return - as it ramps up to a humongous finale, you can't help but feel a twinge of festival revelry in the air.
