Listen: MØ – Waste Of Time (FTSE Remix)
One of Scandi-pop’s front-running females has her latest rip-roaring single reworked by FTSE, uncovering new levels of hidden emotion.
Indeed, underlying passion and attitude is the strongest element of MØ’s work; it’s what sets her apart from so many of her peers in the ever-expanding electro-pop circle, and Sam Manville, the Midlands producer working under his stock-exchange index title, has given this subtext room to breathe.
The frenetic original has been slowed to a walking-pace, its glistening riff scrambled and Ørsted’s vocal, complete with her typical, punchy scat, is carefully given room for the duet to take shape. It’s an intuitive creation from the increasingly exciting new-comer and a ‘Waste Of Time’ it certainly is not – stream below.
