Danish singer/producer Lisa Alma has just signed to Dumont Dumont (José González, RY X), and to celebrate, she's unleashed a new single called "Man" upon the world.
It's got juicy plastic beats laying firm foundations for tinkled ivories galore and her '80s croon - it's as atmospheric as The xx, but as melodic as any Top 40 pop import. "Man" is a slick offering, bordering synthfunk and late-night disco; this is the kind of afterparty groove babymaking.fm (not a real station) needs to sandwich between Marvin Gaye and Barry White. This is cold shower stuff.
Living as an artist in Copenhagen, Alma uses her theatre/performing arts background to carve a new breed of pop.
Alma's debut LP Sweater will be released on Dumont Dumont 21 April.
