The 19-year old Glaswegian producer Koreless is preparing to step out on his own after a busy start to 2013 as remixer and collaborator as half of Short Stories.
Jackmaster dropped the new track from the UK producer on his Radio 1 slot last night, having seemingly become the opener de jour for many UK DJs – Jacques Greene, on whose Vase imprint Koreless appeared last year, included.
It figures that it will also open proceedings for the upcoming Yugen EP, released on Young Turks, being laden with an epic sense of drama that feels like the melodic transposing of a space ship rocketing into the intergalactic regions.
In the vein of his early live sets, it’s less bothered about hitting hard with the beats, and more with the grand wash of warm synths and engulfing atmospherics. It resists taking off in the traditional electronic sense, and rises steadily past the point of the drop, to its victorious, vivid conclusion. Listen above.
