London electronic production-whiz, Kelpe has announced two new musical projects in the form of ‘maxi-single’ ‘Answered’ and his aptly-named fourth full-length LP, Fourth: The Golden Eagle. Both records will be released on Kelpe’s newly-minted imprint DRUT Records.
The title cut drawn from ‘Answered’ is a disorientating seven-minute long sonic safari journeying through the plethora of skewed minimalist techniques Kel McKeown has honed during his distinguished, decade-spanning career. Viscous electronic bubbles rise to the surface before popping on curls of warm prickly guitar. While Scandinavian vocal loops lend a colourful, hymnic texture to the arrangement until the spartan drum beat marches in, carrying the swirling melody aloft towards a euphoric downtempo climax. It’s great to have you back Kel.
‘Answered’ is out on 15 April with Fourth: The Golden Eagle set to follow in June.
