Listen: Great Ytene – MEMO [Best Fit Premiere]
Awash with psychadelia, London four-piece Great Ytene announce themselves with a new, lush and languid track to stand them comfortably along the movements front-runners.
‘Memo’ swarms with supple, reverberating layers of guitar, as a gently hypnotic beat and an up-and-down bass floats the listener along with such minimal fuss; it’s “A trip I’m sure we’ll all take”. The vocal is almost a drowning after-thought but somehow still reaches out and pulls you in with a mysterious weight, before crashing cymbals make sure you get lost in proceedings.
You’ve got the ‘Memo’ – it’s our Song Of The Day.
Great Ytene play the London’s Shacklewell Arms tonight, before A Grave With No Name and Marshall Teller Records buddies Echo Lake – tickets available now.
