Listen: Frida Sundemo – “For You, Love”
While this year saw the Scandipop take-over enter its full-swing final phase, Frida Sundemo has been quietly biding her time – piquing interests with her debut EP Indigo (released in March via Parlophone) before disappearing back across the North Sea. “A Million Years” kept us sated for a couple of months back in June but now thankfully she has returned with new track “For You, Love.”
A colder, more organic, less obvious kind of pop than we’ve come to expect from Sweden, “For You, Love” finds Sundemo’s typically breathy, icy vocals sitting on top of understated, glacial synth pulses. Enchanting, understated and perfectly suited to these wintry days we’re hoping “For You, Love” is a sign of a full record to come.
