Ahead of their debut full length record Spirits, due out on October 28th, Kiwi duo French for Rabbits are debuting a new track "Hard Luck Stories", premiering on Best Fit today.

The wistful acoustic opening of the song breaks into ethereal, multi-layered vocals as the pair, Brooke Singer and John Fitzgerald, conjure up this warm dreaminess - a look back at summer with arid-sounding guitar interjections. As it progresses, so it opens out, and falls into this glorious chorus that has the space to let you stretch out and luxuriate within it - nodding its head towards Mazzy Star on the way, before floating off to the end, only to be left there with Singer's heartbreaking vocal so close you can almost touch it.

The single is out on 24th October via Lefse Records, and follows on from the similarly beautiful "The Other Side" from the album, which the band previewed with a video last week. The band tour Europe in October and November, including a handful of dates with Agnes Obel. Check out the list below.
