Although Stockholm’s Ellinor Olovsdotter – aka Elliphant – has been teetering on the sidelines of mainstream acceptance for some time, her trademark potty mouth and aggressive dancehall vibes consistently impress but the potential chart breakthrough that’s so deserved still at bay. ‘Music Is Life’ sees Elliphant take on an altogether different persona. The abrasive, bile fuelled attitude of her previous singles exchanged in favour of a sunny exterior and positive outlook: here, music is the healer – no longer is Olovsdotter “waking up in a pile of shit”.
