Following on from their 2011 self titled EP, East London based trio Circle Traps return next month with the Obelisk EP with the lead track premiering here at Best Fit today.
A sonically engrossing five minute journey that weaves brooding deep house textures with an organic, almost ambient aftertaste. Skilled musicians in their own right – the group featuring Duncan Bellamy from jazz experimentalists Portico Quartet – Circle Traps understand melody and structure, showcasing a subtle but gorgeously put together late night mood piece.
The Obelisk EP is released on July 29 through Five Easy Pieces. Pre-orders come with a direct download of this very track. Head here for more info.
