Just last week, cult Swedish pop icon Eric Berglund hinted of a return to music after almost four years with a brief, kaleidoscopic teaser trailer. Today, the former Tough Alliance vocalist and Sincerely Yours founder reveals “WHOREHOUSE” – the first single to be lifted off WONDERLAND, the follow up to his 2010 album White Magic.
Released through Modular / Sincerely Yours early 2014, the record is produced by Berglund alongside the titanium Dan Lissvik and White Magic co-conspirator Kendal Johansson.
Like an army of wild horses, “WHOREHOUSE” gallops with urgency and sees Berglund tuneful and earnest – his melodies clean, crisp and delightfully playful. Like a world weary twin sibling to The Tough Alliance classic “First Class Riot”, “WHOREHOUSE” spits out against TTA’s ‘us against the world’ mandate and marks Berglund – or ceo – as very much the singular creative force in his brilliantly confusing self constructed universe.
“WHOREHOUSE” is set to released on December 2 followed by WONDERLAND on February 4.
