Not much is known about Cash+David, an electropop duo that hails from London and self-identifies on their Facebook page as a “co-operative garage band.”
The summery, synth-laden debut single “Funn” speaks for itself despite the swirl of mystery surrounding the band’s origins. Waves of synth and pulsing beats carry along laid-back female vocals that will appeal to listeners of Broadcast and Lali Puna. Brief squalls of guitar crunchiness add unexpectedly jagged textures to an otherwise breezy mix.
“Funn” is expected for release as an iTunes download on 10 March. In the meantime, you can put your ears on it at the duo’s soundcloud:
