Lav muses on past loves with the enchanting and delicate “Reds”
LA-based Lav offers up another gem in the form of “Reds”: a slow, pared-back single that plays on themes of nostalgic romance.
Building momentum ahead of her debut EP set for release early next year, Californian Lav crafts another stunning single dripping in authenticity. Following on from earlier sonic triumphs “Wavvy” and “The Girls Before Me”, Lav’s latest taste “Reds” further establishes her dreamy and serene sound.
Continuing to share insights of her internal monologue, Lav offers up the hypnotic and sublime “Reds”, reliving the rose-tinted relationships of her adolescence from an enlightened perspective and with a relatable narrative. Lav’s delicate approach to story-telling pulls you into a world of her own making, proving “Reds” is yet another product of the unique character Lav radiates.
“‘Reds’, as a song; is a sort of seductive and melancholy tune I whipped up after reflecting on romance in my adolescence,” says Lav. “Dreamy, and idealistic, without acknowledging the reality of an eventual expiration on the relationship.
Lav · Reds“I’m a big fan of very subjective lyrics, however, the song can be about many things, I am always inspired by Julie London’s voice, and lyricism, and her overall air.”
With her upcoming debut EP produced by Doug Schadt (Maggie Rogers’ “Alaska”), we can look forward to more introspective bops laced with a psych pop flair from Lav.
