Lauren Faith puts her full potential in the limelight on Kaytranada produced track "Just A Little"
You might know Lauren Faith from her previous stints with Kaytranada or songwriting cuts on Craig David's number one album Following My Intuition, but with her newest effort, she proves that she is more than well-equipped to stand up as an artist in her own right.
On “Just A Little”, the London newcomer delivers a perfect slice of sultry, R&B-inspired pop where Kaytranada’s signature sound is very present but Faith’s own style permeates throughout.
The track ultimately acts as a strong statement of creative intent, where Faith outlines her frustration in a relationship where she is giving more than she is getting, but despite the desire and frustration that plays through the song’s storyline, the mood is lifted by the playful, bouncing beats that build with dance-inducing euphoria.
The singer also outlined how the song grew out of her previous work with Kaytranada and the natural development that the song went through, saying "After working with Kaytranada previously on his 99.9% album, he sent me a folder of some great beats and immediately one song jumped out at me. I loved the energy, and it felt like a really authentic Kaytranada track. Lyrics and melodies started to flow very quickly, so the song 'Just a Little' that you can now hear came into existence. We’ve created some really exciting songs together in the past, but this is the first time we have collaborated for my own music."
