Trim is a fascinating prospect. The London MC, a former member of Roll Deep, seems to reincarnate with every mixtape, each release apparently a new iteration in an endless process of development.

His latest track seems preoccupied with that progression – or, rather, with the MC’s frustration with his “Two steps forward / Seven steps back”. Meanwhile Last Japan’s synths come on like a trip on the world’s strangest bouncy castle, globular and disorienting.
