Ladytron's Marnie lights up dark days with neon-lit '80s anthem "Electric Youth"

The invigorating ode arrives in the wake of "Alphabet Block" and "Lost Maps", and serves as another preview of upcoming solo LP Strange Words And Weird Wars (the follow up to 2013's Crystal World).

"Electric Youth" has Marnie's inimitably breathy vocals front and centre, with bubbling neon synths behind - it's got booming percussion and a trickling pitter-patter of electro rain, plus shimmering hope and to-the-rafters refrains in spades. Marnie distils the biggest clichés from '80s rock and pop into a refined shard of pristine noise - it might be build from retro bricks, but Marnie's as cutting edge as ever.
