Kwaku Asante's neo-soul ballad “Fantasy” is an enchantingly romantic idyll
“Fantasy” is London-based Kwaku Asante's second single, and he tells an idealistic love story through the eyes of an old soul.
Through singing in church and jazz choirs, Asante spent his childhood surrounding himself with music. He draws influences from these time-honoured styles in his newly-released track “Fantasy” - a captivating soul ballad with Asante's silky vocals taking centre stage, backed by slick piano, subtle bass and R&B-influenced beats. It's a subtly joyous daydream about a loved one who "continues to better your life in every way,” says Asante.
“”Fantasy” is about someone who’s too good to be true, who seems to be a mental projection of what my head thinks the person I fall in love with will make me feel," says Asante about the track. “A dream becoming reality.”
