Kins’ new cut “Charlie” delves into uncharted sonic territory
London via Stockholm group Kins recently unveiled their latest single “Charlie”, a track taken from their upcoming full-length. Acting as a bold instance of emotive instrumentation, it anticipates 2016 as the most exciting year for Kins yet.
The single follows October’s release of “Most Definitely”, the very first track to spearhead Kins’ monthly singles series. Recorded in Dusseldorf, Germany, “Charlie” deals with complications of desire (“I won’t hold you down / I won’t long to see you”) and what frontman Thomas Savage coos “subsequent amnesia”.
“Charlie” is that friend of yours who is gripping and profound, sporting a grim yet realistic view of the world. Savage’s vocal vulnerability reflects this, as its darkened and all-encompassing nature swells in step with the growling bassline.
Take a listen to “Charlie” below. It’s our Song Of The Day.
