We haven’t heard much from low-key Danish duo Kill J since they emerged in mid-2013 with the intriguingly dramatic “Phoenix” but they return today with news of a debut single release via the awesome Chess Club Records.
New track “Bullet”, premiering today on Best Fit, gets its thrills from a skewed Diplo-esque production applied with a mid 90s’ brushstroke. Choppy as hell, it’s got balls beyond the cutesy loops and predictably alluring Scandi-vocal. It also comes with a dedication to “the victims of other peoples bullshit convictions. People who act sinful, hateful and ungodly in the name of their God.”
We still don’t know anything about the band – although we’re not beyond wildly inaccurate guesses about their identities – but we’re told their backgrounds stretch from classical to soul and hip hop. “Bullet” comes out via a limited 7″ and the usual digital download on 7 April; listen below.
