Kassandra's "No Longer Lovers" is a pounding statement of creative intent
Leaving behind her major record deal, Swedish artist Kassandra has carved her way as an independent artist and "No Longer Lovers" is her assertive stamp of creative intent.
A pounding beat stomps forward whilst Kassandra's entrancing vocals sit confidently centre stage as she encourages an ex-lover to get the courage to move on from their relationship. It feels incredibly slick, sure-footed and is immaculately produced, where every note, beat and melody has its place.
Kassandra has explained the bizarre nature of the track that seemed to premediate an event that actually ended up happening to her, saying "'No Longer Lovers' is all about a relationship which has ended and me, the singer, trying to move on while he’s still crying on my shoulder. It’s so weird that I wrote those lyrics just before it all happened to me in real life."
The slick, cutting track is taken from Kassandra's upcoming album entitled Fantasma, which is due to come out later this year.
