JONES announces debut album with "Hoops", a powerful exploration of unreciprocated love
East London's JONES has been on our radar for some time now and "Hoops" looks to shoot her to higher recognition.
With Josh Record and XO on production duties, "Hoops" is one of JONES' most accomplished and confident cuts to date. Her warm, earnest vocals tower over menacing synths and dusty lines of reverb as if to assert her exasperation over the complexities of unreciprocated love. "Gotta jump through hoops / to get to you / to anything at all", she cries. We really do believe what she sings.
Previous single "Indulge" saw JONES play to millions on Jools Holland last month. With her debut album New Skin set for a spring release, we hope more people come to believe in her too.
