Synth-pop duo joan embrace Halloween on “ease your mind”
Finding the balance of light, catchy synths and irresistible hooks between lyrics laced with hints of darkness, joan throw in a heavy '80s influence and the result is a sensational few minutes of candy pop on “ease your mind”.
Following the success of Arkansas duo joan's debut EP portra, their new track's spooky visuals fully embrace Halloween, as they dress up as a ghost and follow their crush around whilst she’s on a date with someone else. The light-hearted video perfectly aligns with joan’s soundscape, which ultimately is pure pop fun.
Alan Thomas and Steven Rutherford, aka joan, have a lot more up their sleeves that a couple of ghost costumes, however. Having spent a lot of time on the road, supporting the likes of Flor, The Aces, Bloc Party and more, with upcoming dates alongside Honne to come too. They’re gearing up for their first headline tour, which is sure to see 2020 be a hectic, but exciting year for the duo.
