DOOM made his first foray into the world of Twitter this week, and it was horribly entertaining. It turns out that behind the mask there is a confused old man trying to work technology, muttering to himself through his keyboard.
It’s probably best that DOOM keeps the fourth wall intact, if only in order that we can take the edge-of-psychosis character piece seriously. When we do suspend our disbelief, we are rewarded with excellence like this: a brand new track with Jneiro Jarel, released under the JJ DOOM moniker, which sees DOOM’s production conjuring images of a deranged inner-city carnival, while Jarel’s odd rhythmic tics bring to mind El-P’s phenomenal ‘Tasmanian Pain Coaster’.
‘Banished’ is taken from JJ DOOM’s debut full-length Key To The Kuffs, out in May.
