Jack Garratt's new album heralded in by intense track "Fire"
As the current poster boy for new music since his BBC Sound of 2016 and BRITs Critic's Choice wins this year, Jack Garratt has been building up to his debut album for some time now. His debut album Phase is out now, and track "Fire" gives a good insight into what the album holds.
Garratt is part of the latest generation of do-it-all-yourself one-man bands. The Buckinghamshire-born soloist's loop-pedal approach can vary in terms of captivating and maintaining interest (particularly live), but Garratt seems to have it licked so far.
His voice on "Fire" nuances smoothly against the Jerry and complex, club-lite production - think Disclosure with a bit more imagination - and bodes well for what's to come from the bearded boy wonder.
