Hannah Lou Clark's new track "It's Your Love" is an upbeat indie earworm for sunnier days
On "It's Your Love", Hannah Lou Clark seems much more jovial than ever before.
With its dark and spiritual themes and deft guitar work, the music on Clark's debut EP Silent Type was sparse, compelling and at times a little sad. Her latest number, however, offers something much brighter: a carefree retro drum machine loop, straightforward arrangements, and chugging guitars.
Even if the lyrics still hint at something more sinister ("your hand's in the shape of a gun/it's your love") there's something much more optimistic about this latest creation.
With flashes of Courtney Barnett in its nods to '90s US guitar-pop, "It's Your Love" makes for a catchy ditty as the sun comes out for springtime.
It's Your Love EP is released 22 April on Quatre Femmes Records / PIAS. See her headline tour dates and festival dates below.
