HANA2K doesn't give a damn about your opinion on self-assured new track "Pretty Enough"
'Pretty Enough" is an assertive statement of individuality and being confident enough to ignore the constant comments that people think they can freely exert on other people's appearance - HANA2K is simply not having any of it.
The 18-year-old producer from Cardiff never asked for our opinion, but her new track "Pretty Enough" is nothing short of brilliant. The idea of someone so young being uber-talented beyond their years is thrown around a lot, but with HANA2K you get the real deal.
She first caught our attention last year with previous single "Too Close", but with her new track, she has really found her footing. She perfectly meshes cyber beats with *NSYNC "Pop"-style delivery and punchy lyrics such as "I don't need a boy to tell me that I look fine / Like I don't know" making the whole thing a winning combination.
In her own words, she explains how the track came from a place of frustration, where she simply had had enough of people telling her how she should look: "I wrote it because I kept getting people tell me their opinion about certain things, such as "you looked prettier without a fringe" or "I think you have too many piercings". And it's not that the comments got me down, they just confused me, because I didn't remember asking them for their opinion, but the comments just kept on coming, almost relentless sometimes, especially when you put pics up on insta, it sort of makes people think that it's a plea for feedback!"
