19-year-old Londoner Hamzaa dazzles with shimmering acoustic soul track "You"
"You" follows previous single "Stranded Love" as the second part of a trilogy of love songs from Hamzaa and puts the full strength of the Londoner's potential centre stage.
"You" twinkles with a nostalgic energy where Hamzaa reflects on a love that has been lost. She sings "They say that you're forbidden / But you're fruit to me", showing her heartbreak process as she works through the memories and the pain that comes with trying to work out where it all went wrong.
The most striking part of the soulful track is the strength of the young artist's vocals that glow with a unique maturity, perfectly depicting the struggle and pining that reverberates through her lyrics.
This is only the beginning for the rising singer, and in the same way that "Stranded Love" first captured people's attention, "You" only highlights Hamzaa's potential and paves the way for greater things.
