Sydney-based songwriter Gordi explores tender territory with “Can We Work It Out”
Folktronica fans may recall Sydney-based singer-songwriter Gordi’s jangly, gently nostalgic single “Taken Blame” garnering a spot as our Song Of The Day earlier this year.
Following a June tour, the recent recipient of the 2015 Josh Pyke Partnership award and triple j's Unearthed Feature Artist of the year continues to explore tender territory with her newest track “Can We Work It Out”.
The song stands as Gordi’s most lushly atmospheric and spaciously produced work to date. Sparkling synth work mingles with acoustic guitar and brisk, heartbeat-heavy drums, building the framework for a track that is as melodic as it is emotionally courageous.
“Can We Work It Out” is taken from Gordi’s forthcoming debut EP, slated for an August 2015 release.
Catch Gordi live at the BIGSOUND Festival in Brisbane, 9-10 September.
