Listen: FURS - "An Eye On The Vicious" [Premiere]
London’s FURS return just in time for the changing of the seasons with autumnal new single “An Eye On The Vicious”, premiering today on Best Fit.
An indelibly sunny lead guitar is the sound of summer and fading sunshine at your back; “you can’t keep it here”, after all, as vocalist Danielle Wade is quick to remind in the song’s first verse. Big, sweeping open chords voiced on acoustic rhythm guitars conjure images of leaves changing color and, as with leaves, “life may change, not always for better”.
“An Eye On The Vicious” is a rare mix of melancholy and brightness. Like the first chilly day in September, it is subtle, yet sudden, familiar, yet unexpected.
The single is set for official release 3 November. Following up on the infectious “Just Kids”, this is the second single from FURS forthcoming debut album, set for release in 2015. They play the Lexington in London on 7 October.
