Listen: Frida Sundemo – “Drawn To You”
It is becoming something of a broken-record statement, but Scandinavia continues to lead the way when it comes to producing electro-pop juggernauts that are as accessible as they are entirely on-trend. Neatly cementing her place as one of the genuine pace-setters in this scene, Frida Sundemo returns with another brilliantly moreish new cut.
Thanks to her immaculate, honeyed vocal and big, clean production, the Stockholm native’s latest outing sits somewhere between fellow Swedes Postiljonen and Say Lou Lou. Its thundering 80s drum beat and recurring synthesised riff recalls the former, while the soft pads accompanying her lush melody hark to the techniques of the latter’s attention-grabbing, ”Maybe You“.
A typically rousing and passionate chorus shines through: “I’m running at the speed of light, in the middle of the night/I’m drawn to you”, she cries, acting as the centrepiece to this beautifully uplifting new track. Get a little bit more drawn in by Sundemo and her pristine pop below.
