I don’t blame you. Thankfully, we received the perfect antidote to the major label gloss this morning: ‘Foxtrot’, the first single from Flats‘ debut album Better Living.
‘Foxtrot’ is seven minutes of sludgy, spit-laden petulance – and every one of those minutes is as absurdly noisy as the last. It doesn’t crescendo. It doesn’t work itself up. Instead, it’s just filthy loud all the way through, painfully screeched vocals and cavernous drums vying to be the centre of attention.
Better Living is out on One Little Indian early next year.
Flats play the following dates:
Dec 14th – Kraak, Manchester
Dec 15th – The Lanes, Bristol
Dec 20th – CAMP Basement, London
