FERDIN&ND arrives with catching, colourful electro debut effort “Your Love”
“An enigma in The Lake District, England.” That is all we really know of FERDIN&ND, and yet moments into “Your Love” our interest to discover more is peaked.
Centred around his sultry-smooth, caramel vocal, his debut offering swells and sparkles thanks to work behind the desk from Dillistone.
The two began exchanging files online after a chance meeting in an Amsterdam coffee shop earlier this year, and it’s a match made in house-tinged, electro-pop heaven.
The stage is set with hushed synth pad work before crisp, squealing punctuation and glossy vocal samples add colour and a twitchy groove, nodding to the likes of Snakehips and the trailblazing Flume.
“I’ll never be giving up on your love babe”, the R&B-inspired melody coos throughout the cut's smooth, soulful refrain, begging to be returned to.
“Your Love” suggests we’ll be hearing a lot more from the enigmatic FERDIN&ND as we move to 2017: an enigma, but for how long?
