Leeds producer Favela shares the summery "Future Visions" ahead of EP on Transgressive imprint
Maybe it's the teasing summer air but something about the latest track from Leeds producer Favela has imbued us with joy.
Those pealing, steel-pan effect synths, those juddering beats, that fresh, balmy ambience are all apt for such seasonal flirtation. Full of hope and - excuse the pun - visions of the future, we hear the nameless 22-year-old producer yearn "all I wanna see is you / because nothing else will do" over a rebooted brand of chillwave.
Ever excited for romance to flourish when the fruits of summer are ripe, "Future Visions" plays on every listener's desire for halcyon days spent in love - and Favela provides the perfect soundtrack.
"Future Visions" follows last year's superb single "Gong", which also made our Song Of The Day slot. Both tracks feature on Favela's upcoming EP, released on 29 June via paradYse/Transgressive Records. Pre-order here.
Favela plays Brudenell Social Club, Leeds on Wednesday 10 June.
