Danish pop star Fallulah unleashes big, bold pop in "Social Club" [Premiere]

Good, upbeat pop music doesn't make excuses. It hits you hard in the face and readies you for the day. Step forward Denmark's latest star, Fallulah

With its statement keys, snappy hand claps rhythms and an anthemic chorus not unlike those ones of fellow Dane MØ, "Social Club" is punchy pop at its most invigorating.

Speaking about the track, Fallulah says: "I wrote "Social Club" in LA. I had hung out with my friend Max of the band MS MR and he played me a rough sketch of an instrumental track he had done. I loved it and took the track with me and wrote the song in one go sitting in my friends kitchen. It just poured out of me.

"I think the influence a place like LA can have on you is this immense pressure to fit into certain molds, and I wanted to write a song that captured my feelings on that. Growing up I felt a lot of those pressures to fit in. When I was 15 I remember I had a cutout of Gisele Bundchen in a tiny pink bikini stuck to my wall. I would look at it every day and tell myself I needed to look like her to be alright. Even now I'm not invincible though I feel at ease with myself most of the time. I feel a big responsibility to be real and try not to add to the unrealistic expectations that many people strive for.
"Kylie Jenner is one of the biggest influences these days with most followers worldwide on Snapchat. So many try to look just like her, but Kylie Jenner doesn't even look like Kylie Jenner. It's utopia. "The media and the broader public gets to decide what people should look like in order to be seen as cool and beautiful and it's just such bullshit. Those things should never exceed simply being a good person."
